The Project
Toronto Cupcake is a Canadian cupcake company that focuses on producing high quality goods to a wide market. Their demographic consists of young people, families and corporate facilities that have the budget and willingness to purchase products that are both tasty and healthy.

The Redesign
The project’s goals were to rebuild their virtual presence, and in the process redesign their logo to fit the new style. I provided for them a complete website, flexible to both desktop and mobile, as well as a new logo.
In their new logo, the cupcake is wrapped by the Canadian Maple leaf and topped with a cherry, which incorporates both the adorable nature of the brand and the iconic Canadian symbol.
The new site used most of the original website’s ideas, adapted to fit the standards of their industry, with longer sections, text spread throughout for readability, interactive elements and interesting shapes to make the site feel playful and alive.
Brand Outlines
Toronto Cupcake’s main color palette uses soft pinks from dark shades to light, alongside accents like red and yellow—they bring a calm and sweet look to the brand.
The typography was chosen to match the iconography and the logo. The shapes that represent the brand are both round with a few sharp corners.
Website Redesign
The redesign of the website was the central part of the project. To make sure that I was representing the brand and the client’s original ideas, I studied the old website as part of my research. I highlighted the parts of it that worked and tackled the ones that didn’t.
After the main points were created, I proceeded to develop a layout fit for a responsive website, and finalized by creating a functional prototype.

Improved:
› Added a layout to the website to improve readability and create consistency.
› Divided content between sections and added more imagery and colors.
› Recreated the navigation to fit the standards of a responsive website fit for desktop and mobile.
› Reorganized the pages by merging ones that seemed unnecessary.
